How to Play — Enchanted Enigmas
The Detective's Handbook

How to Play

Whether you're a seasoned sleuth or stepping into your first mystery, this guide will prepare you for every twist, cipher, and red herring that awaits inside Enchanted Enigmas.

The Process

Four Steps to Victory

I

Step I

Choose Your Adventure

Browse the Game Lobby and select a game that calls to you. Each adventure lists its difficulty, estimated duration, and player count so you can find the perfect fit.

  • Escape Rooms are great for first-timers — work through puzzles in sequence.

  • Murder Mysteries reward careful note-taking and deduction.

  • Puzzle Hunts are our most challenging format — for seasoned solvers.

II

Step II

Investigate & Explore

Once inside, explore every room and scene. Click on objects, examine evidence, and read every clue carefully. The smallest detail can crack the case wide open.

  • Read all descriptions thoroughly — flavour text often hides real clues.

  • In Murder Mysteries, question every suspect before making an accusation.

  • In Escape Rooms, collect inventory items — you'll need them later.

III

Step III

Use Hints Wisely

Stuck? Each game offers a limited number of hints. Hints reveal just enough to nudge you in the right direction without spoiling the puzzle entirely.

  • Hints are precious — exhaust all your own ideas before using one.

  • Hints are per-puzzle, not per-game. Save them for the hard ones.

  • A hint used is not a failure — it's a tool. Use it when you need it.

IV

Step IV

Solve & Triumph

Crack the final puzzle, name the killer, or escape the manor before time runs out. Your performance is tracked — can you beat the clock with hints to spare?

  • In Escape Rooms, watch the timer — urgency is part of the experience.

  • In Murder Mysteries, you only get one accusation. Choose carefully.

  • Replay games to improve your time and find clues you missed.

Escape Rooms

Race the clock. Solve the sequence.

From the Vault

Secrets of the Best Detectives

📖

Read Everything Twice

Puzzle designers hide clues in plain sight. A sentence that seems like flavour text on first read often contains the key. If you're stuck, re-read the room description.

🗒️

Take Notes

Write down codes, numbers, and names as you find them. In Murder Mysteries, jot down who was where and when. Your notebook is your greatest weapon.

🔗

Connect the Dots

Evidence rarely stands alone. A torn note plus a missing vial plus a witness statement — together they tell a story. Look for patterns across different clues.

Manage Your Time

In Escape Rooms, don't spend too long on one puzzle. If you're stuck after a few minutes, move on and come back — a fresh perspective often unlocks the answer.

🤝

Play Together

Two minds are better than one. Different people notice different things. Share what you find immediately — the clue that means nothing to you might be the key for someone else.

🎭

Trust the Story

Every detail in an Enchanted Enigmas game is intentional. If something feels significant — a name, a date, an odd phrase — it probably is. Trust your instincts.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked

Q.Do I need to play with others, or can I play solo?

All games can be played solo or in groups. Murder Mysteries are especially fun with a group — debate the suspects together. Escape Rooms work beautifully solo for a focused, immersive experience.

Q.What happens if I run out of time in an Escape Room?

The game ends and you'll see a "time's up" screen with the solution revealed. You can always replay to try for a faster time — your progress resets each session.

Q.Can I save my progress and come back later?

Currently, games are designed to be completed in a single session. Progress is stored in your browser for the duration of your visit, but closing the tab will reset the game. Save-state support is coming in a future update.

Q.How many hints do I get?

Each game has a fixed hint allowance — typically 6 hints for Escape Rooms, distributed across puzzles. Murder Mysteries do not use a hint system; instead, all evidence is available to examine freely.

Q.What if I make the wrong accusation in a Murder Mystery?

The game ends with a "killer escapes" outcome and reveals the true solution. You can replay from the beginning to try again with fresh eyes — sometimes knowing the answer makes the evidence trail even more satisfying to follow.

Q.Are the games suitable for all ages?

Our games are designed for ages 13 and up. Content is mystery and puzzle-focused with no graphic violence. Difficulty ratings on each game card will help you choose the right challenge level.
